Wednesday, December 30th, 2021 marked the end of our weekly “CSA Food Boxes Distribution” events, which were made possible through funding provided by Growing the Table and Kat Taylor.

Through these weekly events, we were able to package fresh and locally grown produce (e.g., bok choy, carrots, cilantro, chicken eggs, green beans, green onion, lemons, napa cabbage, persimmons, pink lady apples, Thai eggplants, and tomatoes) into boxes to feed several food insecure families throughout the Central California region for an approximate four months. This was an effort in collaboration with our partner organizations–Fresno Barridos Unidos, United Farm Workers Foundation, Big Sandy Rancheria and the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians, and Allensworth Progressive Association–that picked up these boxes and distributed them to their respective communities.

That said, we would also like to acknowledge and give thanks to our farmers, community members, wonderful volunteers, and ABIRC staff members for their gracious support and dedication. We’d like to give a special shoutout to the Sanger High Asian Club for taking time out of their winter vacation to volunteer. Most importantly, we’d like to thank our program manager, Keng Vang, for sourcing the produce that is packaged into the boxes and organizing the weekly events. We truly appreciate each and every single one of you!

As always, please stay safe and healthy! Have a great rest of the year and may the upcoming 2022 year bring all of us nothing but happiness and joy!

With much love and appreciation,

Blong Xiong, ABIRC Executive Director
